  AjiraLeo Tanzania       Tuesday, July 2, 2019
Application Deadline: July 23, 2019
The UNESCO Regional Multisectoral Office for West Africa-Sahel, through the Communication and Information Programme, is organizing an experts’ workshop to develop indicators to monitor the sustainability of information preservation. An initiative directly linked to the Sustainable Development Objective 16, which makes access to information one of the requirements of development.

UNESCO, following the strategy of the Information for All Programme (IFAP) and the provisions of the Recommendation concerning the preservation and accessibility of the documentary heritage including digital heritage, is engaged in a process of formulating the Indicators capable of measuring the sustainability of information preservation. An approach that seeks, among other things, to provide States with tools to measure their performance or guide their policy on information preservation in order to guarantee access to information and foster the development of inclusive knowledge societies.

The present call is therefore intended to invite women and men with proven expertise on information preservation issues to register and participate in order to propose potential Indicators.
Objectives of the workshop
The workshop seeks to:
Map and analyze existing indicators and monitoring tools related to information and documentary heritage preservation, to select potential indicators of information preservation sustainability;
Define a set of indicators applicable to monitoring or measuring the sustainability of information preservation.
