Surface
Drilling and Exploration is a world leading supplier of surface mining,
exploration and construction equipment and related services. Division
consists of two business units: Boom Drills and Exploration drills. We
are looking for an experienced Business Line Manager to develop and
implement sales strategy and secure profitable sales within Southern
Africa and Central Africa for Boom Drills through relevant line managers
and in close collaboration with other role players and agreed way of
working.
General Description:
A
Senior Manager who leads and coordinates the work of leaders, and/or
specialists to achieve agreed business and/or divisional results. He/She
has full managerial responsibility for multi teams/departments and/or
specialists departments. Work is normally carried in an indirect manner
through others and by setting and cascading organizational targets.
He/She contributes to the work of Executive leaders.
Main responsibilities:
- Execution of Global divisional strategy within a matrix organization
- Ensure attainment of Southern Africa and Central Africa forecasted sales value, volume and profitability;
- Ultimate responsibility to meet established sales targets and ensuring they are effectively cascaded in relevant targets of the relevant teams
- Provide regular business performance metric reports to management;
- Liaise and work with senior management to set forecasts, budgets, and targets,
- Ensure that end-user and customer relations are effectively managed,
- Review and monitor sales performance and refine sales strategy as required,
- Manage relevant managers performance and results,
- Managerial responsibility for multiple teams across locations
- Ensure strong financial discipline within Southern Africa and Central Africa sales area, balancing sales and managing Administrative and Sales (A&S) expenses (Direct & Indirect)
Effective customer relations:
- Proactively manage customer relations
- Compile competitor analysis & needs analysis
- Ensure relationship marketing & market services
- Maintain regular interaction with client(s)
- Clarify expectations & Long term planning
- Report deviations and trends

Sales Activities:
- Identify opportunities to sell Sandvik total offerings
- Lead sales management (including best view on future demand)
- Conduct competitor analysis
- Develop deep understanding of customers business, operations and processes.

- Experience in senior Management position (6 - 10 years)
- Other relevant experience 5 years

Advantageous Skills and Qualifications:
- MBA/MBL advantageous
- Mining applications (Specifically Opencast mining) advantageous
Other Requirements:
- Physical & Medical ability to function in a mining environment
- May be required to travel
- Willingness to relocate (Based on operational requirements)
- Psychometric assessments
