The G band Manager: Terminals Commercial roles based within Commercial business unit.
Vodacom
Terminals prides itself on selecting the very best devices for our
customers. Selecting products tomeet the needs of our customers today
and tomorrow, from Sims to Smartphones, Mobile data solutions to Machine
2 Machine, is only half of the challenge. We need to secure the best
commercial value from the suppliers. This new role, reporting to the
Executive Head of Terminals Commercial, Portfolio and Sales will
beresponsible for owning the relationships with our device suppliers and
producing the best pricing.The G band Manager: Terminals Commercial roles based within Commercial business unit.
With support from the Vodafone Group & Vodafone Procurement Company (VPC), coupled with exceptional market knowledge this individual will manage over 16 suppliers and range over 150 different product lines

Your Responsibilities will include:
- Best in class Commercial pricing and practises, including Marketing funds, payment terms, warranties, after salesand legal requirements, using global and local levers.
- Quarterly device portfolio planning with portfolio manager, based on insights (internal (CVM)and external sources) that is aligned with Segments, Sales, Customer Ops &Technology
- Volume mix that is aligned with the A&R budget, connectiontargets, supplier and platform strategy.
- Alignment with the Vodafone Global& Vodacom SA strategy
- Rolling 6 to 9 month device roadmap with key devices clearly identified and justification provided.
- Onboarding of new suppliers
- Execute and shape the Vodafone Global Smartphone& Tablet strategy.
- Secure Vodacom exclusives devices and offers from our suppliers
- Key input into S&OP to influence future campaign plans
- Manage the quarterly negotiations+/- 16 suppliers
- Monthly performance reviews with all suppliers
- Managethe monthly price books (trade and prepaid)
- Collaborate with VPC in terms of quarterly negotiations
- Reduce subsidies
- Align to business strategy on 2G to 3G to 4G
- Align buy plan to bottom up forecasting in line with set budgets
- Work with Sales teams to drive volumes into channels to maintain 40% market share
- Estimated T/O of R14Billion
- Profits Circa R600 million
- Managers the subsidy of circa R25 million a month
- No direct reports
- Dotted line portfolio manager works closely with this position
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Matric- essential
- 3 year degree or relevant equivalent in Finance,commerce or business- essential
- 8-10 years of experience in telecommunications
- Managerial/Supervisory/Leadership experience – 5yrs essential
- Matric
- 3 year degree in finance, commerce or business advantage
- 10-12 years of experience in telecommunications
